About This Manual
- Terms used in this manual
- Conventions used in this manual
- Break with procedure as you see fit
This manual describes how to use RTM-Worx, and it presents the features, available commands,
what you see on the screen and how to change it, structure of the model and how to create it and
provides some hints and tips on the way. You don't need to read this manual entirely before
you can start to use RTM-Worx. Pick the sections you are most interested in, and look up the
relevant sections when you need specific information. Most of the information provided in this
manual is also available in the online help system.
Terms Used in This Manual
Dragging is holding down the left mouse button and moving the on-screen cursor.
Clicking is pressing and releasing the left or right mouse button once.
Double-clicking is quickly pressing the left mouse button twice.
Shift+clicking is pressing the left mouse button while you hold one of the Shift keys
down. This is typically used to select multiple objects.
Conventions Used in This Manual
Throughout this manual, conventions are used to clarify certain keyboard techniques and to help
you distinguish certain types of text (new terms and text that you type, for example).
Information you type is in boldface. This rule applies to individual letters, numbers, and
text strings, but not to special keys such as Enter (Return), Tab, Esc, Shift or Ctrl.
Key1+Key2 is used to indicate a command that requires you to press Key1 with
Key2. For example, Shift+a (although not a command) indicates the uppercase letter
"A".
New terms appear in italic. Italic text is used also for emphasis, as in
"Don't unplug your computer at this point."
ALL CAPS is used to represent disk directories, file names and application names.
Text that is displayed on-screen but is not part of the RTM-Worx application, such as dialog and
message box text, appears in a special monospace typeface.
[Apply] is used to represent command buttons. The text is not always visible, especially on
the Control panel, you may have to enlarge the panel to see the text.
Menu|Choice represents menu commands. Rather than using the phrase "choose the Archive
command from the Project menu," this manual use the convention "choose
Project|Archive."
Break With Procedure As You See Fit
Although the examples in this manual ensure the quickest, most goofproof methods to create
models, run calculations and view results, you might find that you've developed a style of
working that is different. That's okay. Use whatever you're faimiliar of comfortable with
to attain a goal. If you prefer to access the main menu for commands as you begin your personal
adventures with RTM-Worx, go for it.
